US domestic cedants require full transparency on licensing, data governance, fiduciary standards, and regulatory standing. We provide it without equivocation.
BharatRe America operates as a licensed Reinsurance Intermediary Broker under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This designation – distinct from a general insurance producer license – specifically authorizes us to negotiate and place reinsurance contracts on behalf of US domestic cedants, and imposes specific fiduciary, reporting, and operational obligations.

Our role doesn’t end at placement. As your intermediary, we provide proactive claims advocacy – ensuring that the intent of the cover is honored and liquidity is maintained when it matters most.
Reinsurance placement involves the transmission of detailed policyholder and loss data between cedants, intermediaries, and assuming reinsurers. We apply institutional-grade data governance at every step of the risk transfer process.
All risk submissions and bordereaux are transmitted via encrypted, access-controlled channels. We do not use unsecured email attachments for sensitive submission data.
Policyholder data is retained only as long as required by applicable law and contractual obligation – governed by a documented retention and destruction schedule, reviewed annually.
Role-based access to sensitive data is enforced across all platforms. Access logs are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis to detect and prevent unauthorized access.
Our data practices are aligned with CCPA requirements and GDPR principles where applicable – reflecting the global operational standards established by the BharatRe Group.
Our data handling protocols are structured in alignment with SOC 2 principles covering Security, Availability, and Confidentiality – the recognized standard for institutional data stewardship in the US insurance industry.
BharatRe America maintains Errors & Omissions (Professional Liability) insurance in coverage amounts consistent with industry practice for reinsurance intermediaries of our placement volume and client profile. Confirmation of E&O coverage is available to cedants upon request as part of the onboarding process.
Under 40 P.S. § 321.4, all premiums received by a licensed Reinsurance Intermediary Broker must be held in a fiduciary capacity in designated trust accounts, separate from operating funds. Bharat Re America is committed to full compliance with these requirements.
Premium flows are documented, reconciled, and available for review. Cedants are furnished with full premium bordereaux on agreed reporting schedules. We believe that operational transparency is a core competency – not merely a regulatory obligation.
